US rapper Eminem is set to star in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2 with a source revealing the musician ‘surprised’ the cast on set.
The 1996 classic follows Gilmore, a failed ice hockey player, who is then nurtured into a golf pro due to his incredible drive from the tee.
Grossing an impressive £32.6million at the time, the film is long considered one of Sandler’s finest performances, and a second movie is now confirmed.
A release date for the sequel is not yet confirmed, however, filming is now underway as the source from the US Sun revealed that music icon Eminem was filming on set this week.
The 52-year-old is set to have some ‘highly secret’ scenes in the film, however, the source was more blown away by how normal the rapper appeared.
The source said, “He was just super low key, he didn’t have a big entourage, and was just an absolute delight on set.”
They revealed the cameo came about due to the rapper being a huge fan of the original film, and that he impressed cast members with his ‘comedic acting skills’.
“Em is a big fan of the original movie, and he was a total pleasure to work with,” the source added.
“He has good comedic acting skills, he’s playing a comedic role and he really had fun with it.

“He flew in just for this the night before and left the following night. It was a one-day shoot.”
Seeing Eminem make this kind of cameo shouldn’t be unusual, as the Missouri-born musician featured in the 2014 comedy ‘The Interview’ where his fictional self came out as gay.
This won’t be the first time Eminem and Sandler have shared the screen, as they both appeared in the 2009 film, Funny People.
Eminem isn’t the only celebrity set to make an appearance in the Happy Gilmore sequel, with NFL star Travis Kelce listed on the official cast via Letterboxd.
