Adam Brody and Teresa Palmer reportedly had a brief romance after their Justice League movie was canceled.

Fans almost had Adam Brody in a DC movie earlier before his stint in Shazam! and he would have played The Flash in a George Miller film. This may come as a shock to many fans, but the Justice League franchise almost made it to the big screen during the same time as Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy.

Evidently, the planned project would have featured a different cast, and even though the movie never got off the ground, something good came out of it. Two of the main stars ended up having a fling.

Adam Brody and Teresa Palmer Found Brief Romance Amid Cancelation of Justice League: Mortal

George Miller was set to helm Justice League: Mortal and it would have seen the biggest superhero crossover years before Marvel Studios’ The Avengers. The production was reportedly delayed due to the 2007 to 2008 WGA strike, but it was ultimately shelved following the massive success of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

Adam Brody was supposed to play Barry Allen aka The Flash while Teresa Palmer was to portray Talia al Ghul. Unfortunately, the project was canceled only days before the actual shooting, but it didn’t stop the pair from hanging out and taking a holiday in Australia.

Their romance was short-lived, and the star revealed to Sunday Style magazine (via Daily Mail) why it did not work out. She admitted to having a strong urge to fix the person she’s in a relationship with and “because of my past and my upbringing, I’m a nurturer. I want to fix people.” She ultimately realized she needed to break the pattern.

Her fling with Brody did not last long enough, and she was later on linked to another high-profile actor until she met her now-husband, Mark Webber.

On the other hand, The O.C. star married Gossip Girl alum Leighton Meester, and this happened after they were introduced to each other by a producer who worked on both of their famed shows. They collaborated on a 2011 project, and after two years, the duo officially started dating. They married in 2014 and were blessed with two kids.

The cancelation of Brody’s supposed Justice League franchise did not stop him from landing another superhero role. It may not have worked out the first time, but he finally got his chance after bagging the role of the super-powered alter ego of Jack Dylan Grazer’s Freddy Freeman.

Despite so, he didn’t think he already “scratched the itch” after finally debuting in a comic book movie. He told The Hollywood Reporter that it had “more to do with my age than the breadth of the part itself.” The actor also expressed enthusiasm for continuing his career in the superhero genre.

The Shazam! films were part of the dismantled DCEU era, and fans are yet to hear more about the future of the franchise under James Gunn’s DC Universe.
