Agatha All Along recently premiered its fourth episode, where the coven faced the Trial of Fire. This trial centered on Alice’s chance to come to terms with her mother’s fate.
We learned that Alice was bound by an ancient family curse, and the only way to lift it was to sing a version of “The Ballad of Witches Road” that her mother had sung before her death, as it served as a warding spell to shield Alice from the curse’s effects.
While attempting to solve the puzzle, the Teen sustained serious injuries, requiring Jennifer Kale’s healing expertise to save his life. After the ordeal, the Teen shared a heartfelt conversation with Agatha, revealing some insights about his sigil.
As you may have guessed, the sigil was intentionally placed to prevent him from disclosing his identity. Speculation about who cast the sigil has included Agatha, Wanda, and Mephisto, but since the Teen appeared unaware of its existence, he can be ruled out as a suspect.
During their discussion, Agatha confessed that she didn’t place the sigil on him, acknowledging it was done clumsily, but also stated that even if she had done it, she wouldn’t remember.
The Sigil works on the witch who cast it as well. That’s why we don’t use them as much. They’re super irritating.
Agatha further revealed that it will take a while to discover who cast it, as sigils can only be destroyed when they are no longer necessary.
Sigils are destroyed, not lifted. And before you ask how, in that curious little voice of yours, the answer is when they are no longer needed.
Agatha cryptically noted that knowing a person’s name isn’t necessary to understand who they are, which again suggests that the Teen might be her son. However, by the end of the episode, Rio Vidal, who seems to be more aware of the situation than we realized, dismissed this idea.
It’s possible that Agatha is projecting her feelings of loss regarding her own son onto the Teen, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer to confirm this.
