Star Wars Outlaws is getting one-upped by Black Myth Wukong in the best way possible.
Star Wars Outlaws has just been released for various gaming consoles and the reception could have been better. The gaming community had high hopes for this ambitious and original Star Wars adventure; however, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment had their fair share of flaws and shortcomings. Not everyone was interested in taking on the role of a scoundrel and preferred to be a wielder of the Force like a Sith Lord and one other game gave them that satisfaction.

The modding community is hard at work tinkering with Game Science’s latest project and did not waste any time to leave a stamp of their own. Darth Maul fans can now play as the Sith Lord while vanquishing omnipotent and overpowered enemies in Black Myth Wukong.
The Gaming Community Found a Better Star Wars Game Than Star Wars Outlaws

The game developers of Massive Entertainment might have overestimated the chances of Star Wars Outlaws becoming a critical and financial success. After failing to reach expectations, the stock of Ubisoft plummeted to an all-time low and these are numbers that were not seen in a decade. Despite being set in what is arguably the best era in Star Wars history, this game was plagued with countless bugs and other performance issues that drove a wedge between the player base and the developers.
It is an exciting time for the gaming industry, especially with a flurry of highly-anticipated triple-A projects being released. Black Myth Wukong was finally released on the PlayStation 5; however, a few players on the platform had a terrible first experience with the game because of poor performance and optimization which was swiftly addressed by Game Science, on the other hand, the game smashed records on the PC platform.
The modding community did not waste a beat and messed around with the game on PC to inject certain characters from other franchises. Darth Maul is one of the first of many characters to be modded into the game and fans are loving it.

Players are already convinced this Soulslike-adjacent experience is better than the open-world title set in a galaxy far, far away which is a compliment of the highest order. Apparently, other games with a modding feature like Starfield where players can design character models and assets inspired by the Star Wars franchise are faring better than the actual game itself and it is most ironic.
Already better than Star Wars Outlaws

It speaks volumes to how poorly received a game actually is when the gaming community would prefer to play a different game as long as they can play the way they want to. Star Wars Outlaws had potential; however, the dated combat mechanics and laughable artificial intelligence, set back the project and was a major downgrade instead of a massive leap forward.
Modding used to be frowned upon because others believe it is desecrating a game while others view it as an opportunity to enhance a game and cater it to the wants of the gaming community. The combat of Black Myth Wukong complements the fast-paced nature of lightsaber duels the Star Wars franchise is renowned for.

Darth Maul has been a fan-favourite Sith Lord since he made his live-action debut in Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and introduced the double-bladed lightsaber. Maul used his weapon as a staff similar to the Destined One’s main weapon of choice and this mod is a match made in heaven.
The gaming community were enamoured with the Destined One’s menacing demeanour without exerting much effort. The Dark Side could easily seduce the character, especially in his journey to recover all six relics with violent creatures of all manner standing in his way.
The modding community gave Star Wars fans a better experience than Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment by injecting a beloved character into a different game. Visuals, gameplay, and cosmetic items can make or break a gaming experience.
Game Science struck gold with this project and others are reaping the benefits. There is no telling which other characters could be featured in the game down the line.
