Helen’s personal and professional lives are already confusingly intertwined, even to her, but Black Doves season 2 could make it even more intricate. Already, Helen’s marriage to Wallace Webb (Andrew Buchan) has been threatened by another Black Dove, her affair with Jason Davies (Andrew Koji) ended with his death, and the investigation she started to get revenge nearly ended her friendship with Sam Young (Ben Whishaw) in the same manner. If Black Doves season 2 uses this piece of setup to introduce a new character, Helen’s life could somehow get even more complicated.
Black Doves Season 2 Needs To Introduce Helen’s Stepsister Bonnie
Bonnie Is Serving A Life Sentence For Killing Helen’s Stepfather

When Daisy, who would later become Helen, was applying for a job as a translator, the interviewer brought up some dark parts of her past. One such revelation was that Helen had a stepsister named Bonnie, and that she was serving a life sentence in prison for killing Helen’s stepfather. Though she’s in prison, the show could easily introduce Bonnie to the cast of Black Doves in season 2. Now that the show has established she exists, it needs to reintroduce Helen to her stepsister, and the siblings need to reconcile how far they’ve drifted apart.
When Bonnie went to prison, Helen was still going by Daisy and was nothing more than an 18-year-old girl. After almost 20 years, Daisy became Helen and got married to Wallace Webb, who is soon to become the prime minister of the United Kingdom. Bonnie’s nearly two decades in prison almost certainly changed her as well, so there’s more than enough material to make Bonnie’s introduction in Black Doves season 2 work for an entire season. On top of that, there’s another potential twist that Black Doves could confirm in relation to Bonnie.
Helen Running Away After Her Stepfather’s Death Sets Up Some Dark Twists
Helen Hinted That She Killed Her Stepfather & She May Have Framed Bonnie

Black Doves season 2 wouldn’t just get a perfectly set-up new character out of Bonnie, however, it could also get some dark twists. At the end of Black Doves season 1, while speaking to Alex Clark (Tracey Ullman), Helen heavily alluded to the idea that she was at least involved with killing her stepfather, if not entirely responsible for it. It’s possible that Helen killed her stepfather and framed it on Bonnie. Helen did go on the run throughout Europe for almost ten years following Bonnie’s arrest, and it’s possible that she was running from the authorities as well as her past.
Introducing Bonnie in Black Doves season 2 could accomplish a lot for the spy thriller and help it live up to the first season’s stellar start.
If Helen did frame Bonnie for the murder of her stepfather, it would set up a major confrontation for Black Doves season 2. If Bonnie escapes prison or is released somehow, she’d likely want to get revenge against Helen. Even if Helen didn’t frame Bonnie, however, their family reunion would almost certainly be a source of major drama and a huge threat to Helen’s fabricated life as Wallace’s wife. Introducing Bonnie in Black Doves season 2 could accomplish a lot for the spy thriller and help it live up to the first season’s stellar start.
