In the first batch of episodes of Love Is Blind season seven, one of the biggest dramas was what went down between Brittany and Leo. There was obviously a lot of love triangle drama with them before their engagement, and then Netflix dropped the bombshell that their story wouldn’t be followed any further throughout the show.

Following their engagement on the show, and ahead of all the couples heading to the retreat, a title card appeared on screen which told viewers the Brittany and Leo hadn’t been chosen to continue on their Love Is Blind journey.

“Brittany and Leo were not one of the six couples chosen by producers to continue their journey in Mexico,” the message shown during episode five read. “They took their own trip to Miami and broke off their engagement weeks later.”

The Love Is Blind creator then explained they felt Brittany and Leo were the least “authentic” couple of the group this season, and for budget reasons had to ditch one, so chose them. Savage. Leo said he was “totally crushed” by the decision, whilst Brittany was more realistic, and said: “I knew we were the weakest link. Let’s just be honest, I was the only one that didn’t say ‘I love you’ back to the person I was engaged to, so I was not surprised.”

What happened to Brittany and Leo in Miami?

During the show, we were told Brittany and Leo had gone to Miami after being axed from Love Is Blind, but had later called off their engagement. The couple have since explained what happened, and why they chose to end things.

“We had a really wonderful time in Miami, and at the end of it, although we had an amazing time, we just decided that we didn’t see ourselves really proceeding with a full engagement leading to marriage and we’re just better off as friends,” Leo told People. “We had a lot of conversations throughout the trip, and mutually came to the conclusion that we just didn’t see it turning into marriage.”

Brittany said ultimately “the physical connection just simply wasn’t there” and said the breakup was “very clean” and “respectful” and that Leo was “just not my person”.

After breaking off their Love Is Blind engagement, where do Brittany and Leo stand now?

Following their breakup, Brittany and Leo have also shed some light on where they stand now. Before they went to Miami, Brittany and Leo spent two days together in LA, where Love Is Blind was filmed. “After we left the set, that was such a fun time,” Brittany told Entertainment Weekly. “We just rode scooters — we crashed into a cactus, pretty badly actually. I had to see a chiropractor when I got home, but we just had so much fun. We had so much to talk about, what other cast mates look like, our experience on the [other] side [with the men and women].”

Talking more about why things didn’t work out, she said: “There wasn’t anything major that happened. Honestly, I sometimes wish there was, because maybe it would give a better explanation to why things didn’t work out. It’s really just, you know when it’s right and you just know when it’s not, and we’re better off as friends.

“We had this conversation of how things could work out, and we went over our daily schedules and how we would fit into each other’s lives, and then once we got to Miami, we just felt the disconnect. One night we had a very mutual conversation of like, ‘Okay, clearly some shift is happening here, and maybe we are just good friends.’ There is no bad blood or anything, so nothing crazy happened. I’m very lucky of how that turned out.”

Brittany told the publication she won’t be watching any Love Is Blind episodes with Leo, as he lives in New York and she lives in Baltimore. “My plan is I’m actually going right back to Miami — my best friend lives there, so we’ll be right where it all ended,” she said. “I’m very excited to watch it first thing when it comes out with her.”

Brittany has also been sharing memes joking about Leo talking about being an art dealer all the time, and has shared some pictures from the Miami trip. So, there’s clearly no bad blood!
