Cardi B Pens Heartfelt Letter To Kamala Harris After Election Loss: ‘I Am So Proud Of You’

Cardi B let the world know that Kamala Harris won her vote by appearing at a campaign rally days before the election, and now she has written a public message of support after the Vice President’s loss to Donald Trump.

On Wednesday (November 6), Cardi reiterated her respect in an Instagram message to Harris.

“[N]o matter what they’ve said to bring you down or belittle your run for presidency they can never say you didn’t run your race with honesty and with integrity!” Cardi began.

“You really put up a fight against all the odds that were already stacked against you! … You really wanted better for ALL of us! This may not much but I am so proud of you!”

The rapper reiterated a theme she hit on in her rally speech: that she wasn’t planning to vote in the election, but Harris changed her tune.

“No one has ever made me change my mind and you did!” she wrote. “I never thought I would see the day that a woman of color would be running for President of the United States, but you have shown me, showed my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible.”

Cardi’s speech for Harris took place on Friday (November 1) at the Wisconsin State Fair Exposition Center just outside of Milwaukee, at a Harris event that also featured GloRilla, Flo Milli and MC Lyte.

Most of her speech was spent praising the Vice President, who the Invasion of Privacy rapper said had inspired her to vote in an election she had previously planned on sitting out.

“I’m gonna be real with y’all: I wasn’t gonna vote this year. But Kamala Harris joining the race, she changed my mind completely,” Cardi said.

“I did not have faith on any candidates until she joined the race and said the things that I wanted to hear, that I want to see next in this country.”

Towards the end of her speech, Cardi turned her attention to Trump.

“We all knew Trump was a hustler,” she began, adding, “And I’m a hustler too.”

“But hustling women out of their rights to their body is nasty work. Hustling Americans out of their hard-earned money by selling Trump watches, Trump sneakers and Trump Bibles…is nasty too.

“Today, it’s your wallet. Tomorrow, he’ll be conning you out of your health care rights.

“Donald Trump talks about how he has ‘a concept of a plan,’ but, America, the only concept of a plan he has is a plan to hustle you… He’s selling more than watches and sneakers. He’s selling us bigotry, misogyny, division, chaos and confusion.”
