Despite a lot of criticism and anger, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power became a great success series on Amazon. As we have previously said in several of our reports, the show is getting a second season, whose eight episodes will premiere on August 29, 2024, which is just a couple of days away. Seeing how everything plays out will be interesting, especially in light of the showrunners’ recent big announcements.
We recently reported on how we were able to obtain a number of spoilers about two characters and their impending roles in the second season of the show, thanks to the Fellowship of Fans fan portal. The Stranger, one of the most fascinating characters in the entire series, was one of the characters in question.
Building on that, the actor who plays the Stranger, Daniel Weyman, has revealed more details about the enigmatic character, whose identity we have also discussed in a recent report, and his role in the second season of the show.
In an interview with GamesRadar+, Daniel Weyman discussed The Stranger and his impact on the series in general, as well as the role he is going to play in the second season of The Rings of Power. Here is what he said:
“Even though he might not be present in all the scenes in the books, actually, he’s always sort of there because he’s so extraordinary. He’s sort of keeping you company on your journey through the books and I think that’s a great thing about Tom on this journey for The Stranger. His presence is so extraordinary that even when you’re not with him, he’s sort of in your mind because of how he’s interacted with you.”

Rory Kinnear, who will play Tom Bombadil in the series, also chipped in with his own comment on the character and the series in general:
“And how Tolkien writes him – he’s so open-ended and opaque in some ways that people are able to project so much onto him. I think again, that’s his power, both in terms of a reader’s imagination, but also the potential in the interactions with The Stranger, and his role going through The Rings of Power as well.”
