The Witcher fans have a new game to play while waiting for The Witcher 4, but be warned, it’ll probably cause some arguments.

The wait for The Witcher 4 is going to be agonisingly painful as CD Projekt RED only recently confirmed the game had entered full-on development.

Hopefully it’ll be as good as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but who are we kidding? It has to be, right?

Despite the long wait, it’s important to give the developer the time it needs to make a great game, lest we have a repeat of Cyberpunk 2077.

While CD Projekt RED is given time to cook though, there is technically a new Witcher game to play, Monopoly.

That’s right The Witcher is the next video game IP to get adapted into a board game format and it’s available right now.

Like previous versions, the game features player pieces and board spaces themed after various Witcher characters and locations, and you’ll be using the beasties you’re usually slaying to earn yourself some gold and buy properties.

There’s even The Law Of Surprise to replace Chance spaces, so it’s ideal for any fans of The Witcher.

It is, of course, Monopoly though, so it’s best to gather a group of patient players to try it with you as the board game is renowned for causing arguments and upset, and I don’t think this version will be any different even if it is Witcher-themed.

I’d imagine Geralt would play the game for about 10 to 15 minutes before flipping the table in frustration and then skulking off to find someone to play Gwent with instead.

Nevertheless if you like Monopoly and The Witcher, happy days, and even if you’re not very into board games it’d make a cool collector’s piece if you’re running low on memorabilia.

The game has been available in the US for some time, but this surprise announcement marks the game’s official release (finally) in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Poland.
