Cyberpunk 2077 devs drop new mode for us out of the blue

Yesterday saw CD Projekt RED surprise us with a brand-new update for Cyberpunk 2077 despite claiming that it had wrapped up development on the 2020 RPG earlier this year.

Update 2.2, otherwise known as the “Express Yourself” patch, aims to allow players of Cyberpunk 2077 feel more like themselves by customising their V more than ever.

From brand-new cars to colour wheels, character customisation and more, Update 2.2 adds even more to Night City but one feature in particular has the virtual photographers amongst us feeling pretty excited.

Cyberpunk 2077 already had a photo mode but now CD Projekt RED, in collaboration with Virtuos Games, has added even more features to it as well as a way to showcase player creations.

As well as more lighting, depth of field and movement options, the photo mode now features a drone camera which allows you to get angles you couldn’t manage before.

Additionally, new aspect ratios have been added for those who play Cyberpunk 2077 on PC so you can take photographs both vertically and horizontally from now on.

This comes in handy when experimenting with the new SmartFrame feature.

SmartFrames are virtual frames which can be placed around V’s apartment as a way to showcase your favourite photographs.

So if you have romanced Judy and want your apartment to showcase your relationship, you can snap a photo of you both and then frame it for all to see.

As well as getting to see your in-game photography yourself, you can also share it with other Cyberpunk 2077 players thanks to the new gallery mode.

Uploading your images to the gallery will allow others to see your art and, of course, you can view other player’s images too to gain some inspiration.

Last but not least, the new-and-improved photo mode allows us to spawn in up to three NPCs to pose alongside, and yes, this includes Nibbles.

With up to 20 NPCs to choose from, you can take photographs with your favourite characters and share them for all to see.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 is free to download across all platforms right now.
