We can’t wait for this!

It seems like there was a recent tease for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel that many of us may have missed.

Cyberpunk 2077, developed by CD Projekt RED was announced all the way back in 2012 before teasing its first trailer the following year, and later appearing at E3 conventions. However, it wasn’t until 2020 that Cyberpunk 2077 would finally be released.

By now we all know about the launch woes of Cyberpunk 2077, but at least it’s in a much better state now and considered by some as one of the best RPGs in recent years. Just don’t attempt to play it on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and you should be fine.

In 2022, CD Projekt announced that there are several games in the works including a full remake of the original Witcher game as well as The Witcher 4 and more. Project Orion was also announced, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.

We know very little about the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel at this time. We only hope that it launches in a much better state than its predecessor.

Furthermore, we don’t have a release date, details on its story or what platforms it will be released on. Given how long it had taken for Cyberpunk 2077 to be released, it might be safe to assume that it could be a next-gen title.

That being said, there may have been a subtle tease for the sequel the other day that we may have missed. Ok, when I say “tease” it’s used as a very loose term.

As brought to our attention by Reddit user khk001, they shared an image of a graph related to the projects in the works from CD Projekt, in particular, the number of developers working on each project.

Project Orion, the codename for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel shows that from July 2024 to October 2024, four new developers were hired. It’s not much but it at least shows that work is underway behind closed doors.

Hopefully, we’ll get our first glimpse at the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel within the next couple of years.
