Cyberpunk 2077 Witcher 3 crossover quest leaks online

This would have made for one grumpy Witcher

Despite both being developed by the same studio, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt do not usually have much in common.

However, thanks to the recent work of some dataminers, we now have evidence of a CD Projekt RED crossover which would have seen Geralt transported from medieval times to the futuristic world of Night City.

Despite both being developed by CDPR and being hit RPGs in their own right, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 are as different as they come.

One follows monster-hunter, Geralt who must search for his surrogate daughter in the 13th century whilst the other sees us take on the role of mercenary V who operates in the futuristic metropolis of Night City in the year 2077.

However, despite their differences, both games are well regarded so it is no wonder that fans are eager to hear more about their potential crossover.

The crossover quest recently leaked online thanks to the creators behind What Lies Unseen, a series which will aim to detail the development history and evolution of The Witcher 3.

During their work on the project, they stumbled across an early version of The Witcher 3’s Through Space and Time quest which would have seen Geralt travel to Night City after a series of portal hopping.

Before Geralt and Avallac’h get to their desired location of the court of King Radovid, one of their portals leads them to the futuristic metropolis and this misstep even saw the duo share their thoughts on a world very much unlike their own.

Geralt: “What… What is this place? Is this the afterlife?”
Avallac’h: “No. Just another of the realities the Spiral leads through… Technologically advanced, but broken. Dying.”
Geralt: “Disgusting. This stench, noise… How can you live here?!”
Avallac’h: “You should know better. This world is inhabited by humans, not elves.”

Although this would have been an amazing crossover for fans to see, it makes sense that it was not included.

At the time of this quest being developed back in 2012, CDPR had not even released its first trailer announcing Cyberpunk 2077 so it would have been out of place in The Witcher 3.

That being said, implementing a similar crossover in the upcoming The Witcher 4 would be highly appreciated by fans of the two hit RPGs.
