Daisy Ridley’s career soared to new heights largely due to her role as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, which revitalized the franchise for a new generation. She first appeared as Rey, a scavenger on the desert planet Jakku, who plays a key role in the fight against the First Order.

However, the sequel trilogy faced criticism from some fans, who took issue with Ridley’s character and perceived her as a “Mary Sue.”

 

Ridley has faced challenges with the franchise’s reception, admitting that the criticism has affected her health. However, she’s ready to return, now older, wiser, and more experienced, as a standalone movie titled New Jedi Order is currently in development.
