Still, there have been moments where it looked like romance was on the cards for Daryl, only for things to fall through. Walking Dead has featured love interests that never happened for Daryl, but Connie remains the one character that seems the most likely. The two have an undeniable chemistry, and while there may not have been any concrete signs of love between them, they clearly care for one another. Both characters have complexities, which only brings them closer together as they seem to understand one another well. While things may have never gotten romantic, Daryl’s spinoff suggested he does have feelings for Connie.
Walking Dead Suggests Daryl Still Has Feelings For Connie

Daryl Dixon has been much more active about teasing a potential romance for the protagonist and has suggested he still has feelings for Connie. The show seemed to leave some confusion about Daryl Dixon’s love story as he was asked if he had ever been in love and refused to answer. This left his romantic feelings intentionally ambiguous, but it appears there is some clarity around this. In episode 5, Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) asked Daryl about who he cared about, with Connie being one of the first people mentioned. While it might not be much to go off, it is a clear sign that he still cares about her.
Daryl mentioned Connie’s name before Carol (Melissa McBride) despite her being the last person he had contact with before arriving in France. This proves that Connie is still at the forefront of his mind, regardless of when he last saw her. Given all the important characters Daryl doesn’t mention, it is clear Connie is one of the most influential people in his life. There is still the potential that he just sees her as a close friend like Carol, but given he has known Carol much longer, there must be a greater significance as to why Connie comes to mind first, and romantic feelings seem the most likely.
Is Daryl Dixon’s Teased Isabelle Romance Happening?

While Connie may be Daryl’s most concrete love interest, the spinoff has teased a romance with Isabelle (Clémence Poésy). Nothing came of this in season 1, but there is still plenty of potential that sparks could fly between them in Daryl Dixon season 2. In episode 4, Isabelle revealed to her friend that she had no romantic feelings for Daryl. In the context of the scene, it is hard to tell if this is genuine or if she is trying to play things off. When Daryl finally helped get Laurent to The Nest, Isabelle looked incredibly happy, especially at seeing Daryl act as somewhat of a father figure to Laurent.
Isabelle even tried to convince him to stay, which could suggest she has grown fonder of him since that conversation regarding her feelings for him. So far, Daryl Dixon has avoided a romance story with Isabelle, and considering she is a nun, it may continue to steer clear of it. Despite this, the showrunner even teased the possibility of a relationship between the two and refused to rule it out. With Daryl feeling some sort of connection with Connie, a love story with Isabelle would create conflicting opinions. Daryl Dixon may finally give the character the love story he’s been waiting for, be it Isabelle or a reunion with Connie.
