Days Gone is a bit like marmite with people either loving or hating the post-apocalyptic title by Bend Studio.
First released back in 2019, Days Gone received mixed reviews from critics and players alike thanks to its beautiful graphics and voice acting but its inability to offer an original story and gameplay.
Despite this, the action-adventure title still managed to sell over seven million copies worldwide but in recent years, Bend Studio has revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment denied its request for a potential sequel.
However, it looks as though fans of Days Gone can indeed look forward to something as rumours of a remake are still lurking online.
Rumours kicked off back in September ahead of the announcement that Horizon Zero Dawn would be receiving a remaster.
Alongside the HZD remaster, some Sony insiders claimed that Days Gone would also be receiving a similar remaster in the future.
Now in recent weeks, ResetEra user dex3108 has noticed that the SteamDB listing for Days Gone has received an increase in activity which could mean that there is work going on behind the scenes.
Last but not least, Steam has recently marked Days Gone down to just £9.99 thanks to an impressive 75% off sale.
This offer ends at midnight on 12 December which coincidentally is the same time that The Game Awards 2024 goes live.
Could this mean that tonight is the night that a Days Gone remaster is announced?
It remains to be seen but in the meantime, users over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours were happy to share their thoughts.
“Can’t wait to see the game director lose his s**t like he does every time Sony does anything with his game that isn’t giving him a sequel,” user dewittless joked.
Healthy-Career7226 said what a lot of people seem to be thinking: “A remaster for a 2019 game? Bruh.”
