For a lot of fans, Deadpool & Wolverine was the most anticipated film of the year. The film, which features Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and is still playing in theaters, lived up to the expectations of the audience. As you are aware, the film contains a ton of Easter Eggs, and many of the references to Marvel, aside from the characters and the more or less obvious ones, were buried in the jokes, most of which were said by Deadpool himself.
Namely, building on the popularity of the movie, Disney has included Deadpool in its Disney Park attractions and a recent performance of Storytime with Deadpool saw a very strange joke being used that some fans found offensive.
Namely, in a recent edition of the Storytime with Deadpool in a Disney Park, a performer in a Deadpool costume uttered the following joke: “Cinderpool was late [to the big battle] because he had to read every single page in the terms and conditions when he signed up for Disney+.” Of course, this is a classic Deadpool-style joke and something that could’ve appeared in the movie, but in light of what had happened recently, it might sound a bit too much.
Namely, not that long ago, a woman named Kanokporn Tangsuan died in a Disney Park after having an allergic reaction to a meal she ate there. Her husband was quick to sue Disney for her death, but the lawsuit was temporarily blocked because – wait for it – she and her husband agreed to Disney+’s terms and conditions back in 2019, which stipulate that they are agreeing not to sue Disney.
And as if that in itself wasn’t bad enough – imagine trying to stop a lawsuit of this type because someone agreed to the terms of use for a streaming service years ago(?) – the joke was interpreted as an obvious reference to this, and it did not come off as funny:
This is “Disney-designed Deadpool humor” about them literally trying to get out of a lawsuit (because someone DIED at their park). It’s just too… “oh ho ho, how silly we are 🤪for letting someone die and trying to get out of any responsibility”.
Kinda makes my skin crawl.

Imagine being the widowed husband and not only the company that let you wife die and tried to get away with it, also turns your grief into the butt of a joke

someone fucking died and now disney is having the fun quirky character say this to make us only view insane policy as a “stupid” thing rather than some actual 1984 bullshit https://t.co/HKaVgDxbEa
