Agatha All Along is the newest addition to the MCU, set three years after the events of WandaVision. The series follows Agatha as she attempts to regain her powers on the Witches Road after being freed from her magical imprisonment by Billy Maximoff.
The mystery surrounding Billy’s true identity was unveiled in episode 5, when he attacks Agatha and ensnares her along with Jennifer Kale and Lilia Calderu in a magical quicksand trap.
It’s well established that Billy is Wanda’s son, as there are only a few gay teenagers in the Marvel universe with a close connection to the Scarlet Witch. However, what we didn’t realize was that Billy had been aware of his true identity all along and sought out Agatha for a compelling reason.
At first, he claimed he was searching for power, which seemed reasonable given his inability to cast spells without the spellbook. He initially joined the coven under the guise of being Agatha’s familiar.
Later, showrunner Jack Shaffer confirmed that Billy was intended to be a member of the coven from the start. The black heart symbol that Lilia Calderu drew for Agatha’s recruitment efforts actually represented Billy, not Mephisto’s Blackheart, as we had initially thought.
This revelation has sparked fan theories, such as the possibility that Billy could be the true villain of Agatha All Along. After all, like mother, like son, right? This speculation was recently hinted at by the well-known leaker account MyTimeToShineHello in a tweet.
I suggest you wait for the final two episodes… https://t.co/D7F6ABYFbc— MyTimeToShineHello (@MyTimeToShineH) October 20, 2024
According to a tweet, Billy is set to be unveiled as “the villain” in the final two episodes. It’s likely that once Billy discovers Agatha’s true connection to his family, he may become furious, especially since he already blames her for being power-hungry and for the accidental death of Alice Wu.
At this point, it remains unclear whether Billy’s villainy stems from his ties to Mephisto or another demon, or if his actions will shift when he learns the full truth.
Meanwhile, Wiccan is on a quest to find his brother, insisting that he can feel him on the Witches Road. For the rest of the story, we’ll have to wait for the final two episodes.
