If you want to check out Dragon Age: The Veilguard without having to cough up extra cash, now is your opportunity to see what the fuss is about.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the latest entry in the BioWare fantasy RPG series, from the same studio that has graced us with Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect series, to name a few.
In our review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, we said it’s “exactly what we needed after Inquisition. From the moment I stepped onto Minrathous’ streets, it felt like coming home. After such an agonising wait, the franchise I adore is back as strong as ever. It respects what’s gone before while also welcoming change and innovation.”
Recently, BioWare released a free standalone character creation suite for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which allows you to create your Rook ahead of buying the game. Capcom did the same by releasing its free character creation suite for fellow 2024 fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2.
However, if you want to play the actual Dragon Age: The Veilguard game for five glorious uninterrupted hours, you can do so with an EA Play subscription.

If you subscribe to EA’s subscription service, the five-hour Dragon Age: The Veilguard trial gives you full access to the game at no extra cost, including being able to unlock trophies/achievements.
You won’t get close to finishing the game during that time but you’ll at least play enough of it to know whether or not it’s worth buying.
What’s more, if you decide to purchase the full game once the trial has concluded, your progress will carry over. It’s also worth mentioning that EA Play is also included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
