Drake Gave Young Thug $1M After Release, Says Akademiks

Drake allegedly gifted Young Thug $1 million after his release from jail according to Akademiks.

Speaking on his livestream, the controversial online personality said: “Y’all want to hear this play I heard? Watch, he gon’ hit me up, like, ‘Yo, how you heard?’ ‘Cause he ain’t tell me. That’s my mans. When Thug gets let out of jail, the talk is this. They say two hours afterward, Drake flew to Thug and allegedly gave him a mil.”

He added that the information did not come from the 6 God himself: “Drake didn’t tell me this. Drake gon’ hit me up and be, like, ‘Who told you this?’”

Neither Drake nor Thugger have commented on the report of the Canadian’s generosity.

Even though Young Thug has only been out of jail a short amount of time, his freedom has already generated controversy.

First, some fans suspected he almost immediately violated one of his probation conditions by hanging out with T.I. who is a convicted felon.

However, the terms of Young Thug’s release do not explicitly prevent him from associating with felons, just “members or associates of a street gang.”

Thug’s probation conditions do, however, refer to avoiding “persons or places of disreputable or harmful character,” which could apply to convicted felons.

Thugger has also appeared to criticize Gunna on social media after previously getting permission from the judge to interact with his former co-defendant.

“Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy,” he wrote and then quickly deleted.

Some speculated that the YSL co-founder had been hacked however Gunna’s brother later commented on Instagram: “Trust and believe the feeling is mutual,” along with a capital P emoji.

There have been many rumors about the current nature of Young Thug and Gunna’s relationship ever since the “One of Wun” rapper took an Alford plea in 2022, admitting to one count of conspiracy.

Gunna’s acceptance of the plea deal led to accusations that he snitched on his longtime collaborator in order to get out of jail, a belief held by Lil Baby and Lil Durkas well as seemingly Thug’s own children.
