Elizabeth Olsen is one of the most popular MCU cast members, and her character, Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. The Scarlet Witch, is one of the best characters in the whole franchise. Wanda’s development as a character is absolutely amazing, and it makes sense that the fans want to see more of her in future MCU projects.
But her fate is up in the air. The character seemingly died in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While the rumor mill has been active, the rumors themselves have been contradictory, ranging from those that speak about a solo movie to those that the character won’t be making a comeback.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but that is not what interests us now. What interests us now is a relatively recent interview that Olsen had with Jimmy Kimmel.
During the interview, she made a very interesting remark about her character and another MCU powerhouse, as she believed that Wanda could beat that powerhouse.
The MCU powerhouse we are talking about is Thor, who is played by Chris Hemsworth in the MCU. As you know, Thor is one of the strongest MCU characters. Throughout his numerous appearances, he has proven his strength to the fans and to the other MCU characters.
While there is only a small number of MCU characters who could actually take on the Asgardian god and would dare do so, Elizabeth Olsen believes that Wanda could do it.
Not that long ago, Olsen was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, one of the most popular talk shows in the States, and she was asked about a potential fight between her character and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, and her answer was quite surprising. Namely, as you will read below, Olsen said she believes that Wanda could actually defeat Thor:
I think I am. I think theory has it that Wanda could beat him. I think Wanda has powers that are greater than a hammer and the lightning. Yeah, I think so. I think I could probably somehow manipulate and go inside his body and do the same thing he does.

As you can see, this is a pretty bold statement from Olsen and while not everyone might agree with it, knowing Wanda’s powers, it sounds plausible.
Thor isn’t immune to magic per se and he is not immune to mind control, which is what would give Wanda an ample opportunity to actually do what Olsen said she would do.
Would she win? Well, we don’t have a precise answer, but it would definitely be an interesting fight, although one we are unlikely to see in the MCU.
Do you think Wanda could beat Thor? Let us know in the comments below!
