Now, Netflix has posted a teaser for Emily in Paris season 5 online, showing Emily sipping from a small cup with the show’s name and the number “5” at the bottom. Text in the post also reads “There’s no place like Rome,” confirming the series will be changing locations for the upcoming season. The images also substantiate this with what appears to be Roman architecture in the background. Check out the new images teasing season 5 below:
What Emily In Paris Season 5 Means For The Show
The Next Season Marks A Major Shift
With the show’s protagonist heading to Rome in Emily in Paris season 5, it appears her life is about to change drastically, the most since the series first began. Although she has a new love interest in Marcello, season 4 ends with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) winning a Michelin star, leading to her leaving him a voicemail in French offering congratulations. This stems from an argument that led to their breakup earlier in the season, with the chef wanting a more equal relationship between the pair. Her message indicates a spark could still reside between them.
Although Emily and Gabriel’s relationship could continue, with him potentially pursuing her to Rome in season 5, their current opportunities could keep them apart as well. However, Alife (Lucien Laviscount) encourages him to go after her, a big step considering his own romantic interest in the protagonist. Because of this, the next episodes could seal the deal regarding who she chooses to end up with, shaking things up for her and Marcello in the process. Although characters may be geographically separated, season 5 is promising plenty of dramatic stakes that are yet to come.

The Show’s Continuation Offers A Fresh, New Perspective
Image via NetflixEmily in Paris season 5’s change in scenery is the perfect way to keep the show going while offering a fresh, new perspective for its lead characters. By giving her a stint in Rome and a new romantic interest that lives in the city, the rom-com can create unique dynamics that would have been impossible by staying in Paris once more. This time around, the show’s events will be more unpredictable, as this new location could be what the series needs to reinvent itself after so long.
