On her podcast, the influencer discussed her most shocking — and “heartbreaking” — dietary losses as she prepares to welcome her first child

Mom-to-be Hailie Jade Scott had a tough wake-up call when she learned which foods aren’t safe to eat while pregnant as the list includes some of her all-time favorite bites.
On the most recent episode of her Just a Little Shady podcast with co-host Brittany Ednie, Eminem’s 28-year-old daughter shared her frustration about all that’s off limits while expecting. Hailie Jade — who is expecting her first baby with husband Evan McClintock — began by addressing an especially difficult goodbye: deli meats.
Her longing was only exacerbated when sandwich chain Jimmy John’s announced the launch of its new Picklewich. “I just want to know why now … Why now, when I can’t have it?” the podcaster playfully begged on the episode, which was released on Friday, Nov. 1, emphasizing how much she loves pickles as well.
“It leads me to a bigger discussion here, because you kind of hear some things that you can’t do or you can’t have when you’re pregnant,” she continued. Confirming Brittany’s example of how pregnant people can’t drink alcohol, she added, “But then you get into some of the other stuff and you’re just like, ‘Why? Why do you need to take this away from me?'”
The next food item the influencer specified as particularly surprising: unpasteurized apple cider.
“Heartbreaking. But, thankfully, we found pasteurized,” she said of her fall favorite drink. “And I never even thought pasteurized or unpasteurized. I just thought it’s apple cider. It’s juice. Nope. Has to be pasteurized. Same thing with orange juice. Didn’t know about that. I knew about the caffeine.”
Hailie Jade also said she learned grapes could be harmful during pregnancy, but acknowledged that it might be a more “niche” concern: “I’m just telling you what I’ve learned, okay? Grapes, you’re not supposed to. Supposedly, the skin in them can be toxic,” she said.

It goes beyond just food too, she explained. Hailie Jade was shocked to hear it’s considered dangerous to change cat litter, though since she doesn’t have a cat, she said the news felt more “random” than personally upsetting.
Cutting down on Advil, on the other hand, was a much harder pill to swallow for the expecting boy-mom. “I knew about the medicine, that you’re supposed to limit it, but I didn’t realize that it was specifically Advil,” she said. “I’m a headache girlie, and it’s been tough out here.”
When she moved on to the fact that pregnant people are advised to avoid diet soda, the self-proclaimed Coke Zero fan reflected on the loss of her favorites in general. Brittany couldn’t help but empathize with her friend: “You didn’t realize your last Coke Zero was your last Coke Zero,” said Brittany.

The rapper’s daughter agreed, “I said this about my last margarita, my last Coke Zero, my last deli sandwich. If I would’ve known those were my last ones, I would’ve savored the moment.”
She went on to admit that she used to think new moms were being dramatic when she saw videos of people having off-limits foods, like sushi and sub sandwiches, brought to the delivery room after giving birth. Now, however, Hailie Jade says she can totally relate to the urge.
“There’s just a lot of things that you find out after you get pregnant and you realize that you can’t have them anymore, and then you really long for them. And now I understand,” she said. “I fully get it.”
