Even After 20 Years, Fans Still Can't Gorget "the Worst Basketball Scene in Cinema History" from 'Catwoman'

As far as superhero movies are concerned, one of the worst ones – by all reasonable standards – is Catwoman. This 2004 movie starring Halle Berry was so bad that it is still, 20 years later, considered a horrible mess that no one really likes; such films often become cult classics after a decade or so, but Catwoman has failed in doing that as well.

In retrospect, this film really doesn’t have any proper redeeming quality, and while Halle Berry did her best with a poor script and cannot be blamed for the movie’s failure, everything else can. Not only was it a horrible interpretation of an iconic comic book character, but it was also a horrible standalone movie.

If you don’t believe us, we’ll just tell you that now, 20 years after the movie’s premiere, the fans are still amazed at how bad one particular scene was, calling it the worst such scene in the history of cinema.

The scene in question is the so-called “basketball” scene between Halle Berry’s Patience Phillips and Benjamin Bratt’s Tom Lone, which was so poorly executed that had there not been a basketball somewhere in that scene, you wouldn’t really know which sport – if any – the two of them were playing (or doing). Think we’re overdoing it? Take a look for yourselves:

And if you think that we’re the only one appalled by this scene, here is a series of fan comments that show just how much people hate this scene and why it is considered the worst basketball scene in the history of cinema:
