Colin Farrell’s The Penguin ended its superior reign with its rating surpassing that of Agatha All Along’s best-rated episode. Marvel has to bow down.
Marvel and DC have long been battling for the title of who does it better when it comes to the superhero genre. But fans have unanimously agreed that this time, DC’s The Penguin far surpassed any of its competitors’ TV shows, including Agatha All Along.
The WandaVision spin-off miniseries premiered with mixed reactions from fans but managed to win over the audience due to its many twists and mysteries. However, final ratings declare the clear winner as the Colin Farrell show’s final episode trumps the ratings of Kathryn Hahn’s show’s highest-rated episode. Even the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige has to acknowledge the show’s superiority.
The power-packed finale: A perfect ending

The Penguin has been proclaimed as the best DC TV show ever since fans watched the first episode. It soon began to climb the ladder of popularity and fans unanimously declared that it was the finest example of a TV series in the superhero genre.
Colin Farrell reprised his role from Matt Reeves‘ The Batman to portray the formidable antagonist. His performance as Oz (or Cobb) charmed audiences due to his amazing acting ability and the superior plot.
The finale episode showcased an epic showdown between Oz and Sofia (portrayed by Cristin Milioti), as the former faced his empire’s fall. It showcased the criminal rising from the ashes to the position of notoriety and power he finally gained, to become one of Gotham’s most vicious villains.

Cobb managed to keep hold of his political aspirations by gaining access to Councilman Hady and through him, inevitably the city council. His relationship with Victor (played by Rhenzy Feliz) too suffers an unfortunate end as the sociopath is unable to handle the growing affection he had for his underling.
To conclude the series ended with a blast which justifies the episode’s high rating of 9.7. The finale perfectly sets up Farrell’s character as a powerful opponent for Gotham’s caped crusader, with a surprise reveal of Selina Kyle at the end.
Marvel has to admit defeat, at least for round one
Kathryn Hahn in Agatha All Along | Credits: Disney+In comparison, Agatha All Along was released with the audience skeptical about its performance. Marvel TV shows did not have a credible track record, and fans were cautious of being disappointed again.
However, their worries were for naught as the WandaVision spin-off gained a positive response. Kathryn Hahn‘s Agatha Harkness stole the show while fans adored MCU’s Wizarding community.
The series also brilliantly captured the after-effects of Wanda Maximoff’s actions in the parent show. Joe Locke‘s Teen intrigued the viewers at first glance due to the mystery surrounding the character, who finally turned out to be Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan.

Overall, the creepy vibes and spookiness surrounding the show managed to win over the audience because it was more refreshing than other Marvel projects. However, even the highest-rated episode 7 couldn’t beat the ratings of The Penguin finale.
Jac Schaeffer‘s miniseries’ best-rated episode only received 9.1 in comparison to Lauren LeFranc’s, which received 9.7. Marvel fans and Kevin Feige himself have to agree that the HBO show managed to accomplish what the franchise couldn’t.
The Penguin is currently available to watch on Max.
Agatha All Along is currently available to watch on Disney+.
