Joker: Folie à Deux is the highly anticipated DC release we’re eagerly awaiting. The film is set in and around Arkham Asylum and is described as a drama, though official plot details have yet to be confirmed. The cast features Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, and Brendan Gleeson, with the screenplay co-written by Todd Phillips and Scott Silver.
Initially, the film was described as a musical, despite Phillips’ insistence that it is not one, so interpretations may vary.
The Joker franchise has always deviated from traditional comic book adaptations, with director Todd Phillips steering clear of the usual character tropes. Phillips has made it clear that Joker will never become the “clown prince of crime” in Gotham. Lady Gaga has also hinted at a distinct and unique portrayal of Harley Quinn, which has met with mixed reactions from fans.
Despite these changes, the film remains highly anticipated, especially after the massive success of the first installment. With the release date approaching, the movie’s marketing is ramping up. Recently, a first look at Harry Lawtey as Harvey Dent was revealed.
In this film, Dent will be Gotham City’s newly elected District Attorney, determined to prosecute Arthur for his crimes.

Why is Harvey dent in this movie?? His entire characters arc basically depends on Batman and Bruce is like 8

They keep bringing new Batman characters into these movies but we’re supposed to believe that they aren’t trying to make a trilogy+ out of this franchise. They said there would be no Joker 2, then it was made, and now they said there would be no Joker 3. We will see.

It’s unclear why Harvey Dent is included in the movie, but it seems likely that his comic book counterpart will be only briefly referenced, similar to other familiar characters in the first film.
Since we can’t evaluate Lawtey’s performance based solely on images, we’ll reserve judgment until the movie is released. What are your thoughts so far? Share them in the comments below!
