Basically, the prequel finally delivered the long-awaited justice for Martin’s universe.

Everyone knows it’s always tough to bring a book universe to the screens and not lose its charm entirely. The Game of Thrones creators tried really hard, and the series’ popularity proves they’ve succeeded, but some important aspects of George R.R. Martin’s world were still criminally overlooked.

Until House of the Dragon arrived to finally make it right.

We are talking about the dragons, of course, because seriously, could anyone ever distinguish the three dragons Daenerys had? All three of them were of the same color, same shape, and basically the same personality (which only included “being a dragon”).

Even House of the Dragon’s visual effects supervisor admits the mistake.

“It was always George R. R. Martin’s intention that the dragons were diverse and colorful, so the primary design goal at the start of pre-production was to create the distinct characters,” VFX supervisor Angus Bickerton told Deadline.

Well, it would’ve been a huge blow for the series that literally has the word “dragon” in its title to blow the design of the winged beasts once again.

Luckily, this wasn’t the case: House of the Dragon understood the assignment perfectly, delivering several beautiful fire-breathers, each with their own unique features, colors, and personalities.

The result? Some House of the Dragon fans unironically root for dragons more than they do for humans. Who cares about Rhaenyra, Daemon, Alicent, or Aegon, when we have Caraxes, Vhagar, Syrax, or Seasmoke?

House of the Dragon season 2 is currently in production, but the premiere date remains to be scheduled.
