Gina Carano's Back, and She's Now Set Her Mark on 'Star Wars' Legend Mark Hamill for a Trump Joke... And She's Not Biased, Right?

Guess who’s back… your favorite actress who likes to make other people’s business her own. Yes, we are talking about Gina Carano, who has once again decided to take a stance against satire while – at the same time – continuing to claim that she is being victimized by Disney for not being in line with their corporate policies. But, anyway…

This time, Gina Carano decided to pick on Mark Hamill. Again. Do you know how many times Mark Hamill talked about Gina Carano? 0. Do you know how many times Mark Hamill responded to Gina Carano? 0. Just Google it. After her recent attempt at a Mark Hamill joke, we found an even older tweet in which she criticizes the actor. Why? Because of politics, of course.

In a lengthy tweet, Gina Carano responded to a Mark Hamil tweet where he made a Trump joke, claiming that Trump’s prayer looked like him being asleep during that same prayer. Carano took it to her profile to criticize it and again, somehow – and we really don’t know how she keeps doing it – managed to make it about here. And it was not about her.

In a lengthy tweet published back in July, which we managed to find, Carano attacked Mark Hamill for making a Trump joke. Here is the tweet:

In case you’re unable to open it for some reason, here is the whole message:

It’s called praying Mark. Trump was closing his eyes in prayer. The man was just shot a few days ago, almost losing his life and another man took that bullet and died protecting his family. What happened to all that talk about not spreading misinformation and disinformation? Just doesn’t count when you do it huh? Rules for thee.. not for me. How’s that white democrat male privilege treating you? Been fired from any jobs recently? It really makes you wonder what the deep state has on you for you to have your head so permanently jammed up their ass to where all you’ve become is their walking, talking piece of dung. Have you enjoyed all your political free speech and Hitler analogies without any repercussions the past 8 years. Don’t worry, we have them all saved. Strange you weren’t cancelled or called out for any of it. I wonder if that time is fast approaching for you. Have a good nap.

In short, Mark Hamill compared Trump’s post-assassination prayer to sleep. He was not sleeping, as it seems (although instances of Trump dozing off on camera have been recorded!), but Hamill’s satirical reply was neither dangerous nor especially malevolent. You get these kinds of comparisons all the time, on a daily basis.

But, as it usually goes with Gina Carano, she made it about herself somehow. Neither Donald Trump nor Mark Hamill mentioned her, but she made it about herself. Which is amazing, really, as she keeps doing it all the time. Of course, Hitler had to appear there as well, but when Carano keeps talking about the horrors of the Holocaust and the horrors of Hitler’s dictatorship in such a blatantly wrong way, we cannot but remember The Princess Bride and Montoya’s reply: “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

And it’s not even a matter of politics anymore. It’s a matter of principle. When it all started, Carano kept saying that she was not a right-wing bigot, that it was all accidental and blown out of proportion by Disney, who was prosecuting her because of her views. But as time passes, and Carano’s comments become more and more frequent, it becomes painfully evident that she is not Disney’s victim at all.

And while we do not agree with her, as Voltaire said, we defend her right to have her own opinion and to express it publically. She has the right to do it. But then admit that you are what you are and do not go around playing the victim. It looks silly.
