GTA 6 fans heartbroken as they realise they'll be unable to play at launch

Depending on your platform of choice, millions of you won’t be able to play Rockstar Games’ upcoming title Grand Theft Auto VI at launch – and those affected aren’t too happy with the alternative solutions.

As far as we currently, officially know, Grand Theft Auto VI will be coming out for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5… and that’s it.

Obviously a Nintendo Switch port was never going to be part of the conversation, because we already know the system won’t be powerful enough to run a game like GTA VI, but what about a PC port?

For the time being, Rockstar Games are being tight-lipped about when the game will land on PC. Their recent PC-only upgrades for GTA V are a good sign of things to come, but that still doesn’t change the fact that GTA VI won’t be available on PC at launch.

Over on the r/GTA6 subreddit, players were asked about how they feel waiting an extra couple of years to play a PC version of the game. Understandably, the comments are less than positive.

“Not great, obviously, but there isn’t much we can do about it,” commented user darkbinds.

“Either buy a ps5 and double dip when the game drops on pc a year or two later (because better graphics) or wait for those one or two years for it to release on PC. Those are the only two choices.”

“They won’t get me again. I bought GTA 5 three times and RDR2 twice. And I still don’t have full access to GTA: Online on PC,” replied user Stiltz85.

“Sh**ty shady business tactics won’t work on me anymore from Rockstar and Take2. I will buy the game once on PC, they won’t get another dime from me.”

I think the comments about double-dipping and buying the game on multiple systems are lunacy quite frankly, if reports of GTA VI potentially retailing for more than $100 are to be believed.

But as far as avoiding spoilers goes, yeah, there really won’t be much our PC-only friends can do about that one… other than watching a play-through of the story on YouTube I guess.

Here’s hoping that the PC port is only a few months after release, and not the one to two years we’re assuming.
