Split Fiction has been a great success for Hazelight Studios so far. It has become the only title from EA to secure a 90+ Metacritic rating. It has already reached over 200k concurrent players on Steam.
Further proving its success, the developers have confirmed that Split Fiction sold over a million copies just two days after its launch.
Why it matters: The studio has recently talked about the importance of creativity in games and how microtransactions have been killing it. Therefore, it’s great to see the developer have seen another success after It Takes Two.
The official account of Hazelight Studios has just confirmed that Split Fiction has sold over a million copies in just 48 hours of its launch. For context, it took a month for the studio’s previous title – It Takes Two, to reach the 1 million units sold milestone.
The developers have thanked fans for supporting the title and stated that they are beyond happy to see the fan’s reaction to their latest release.
The love you all show for our game is overwhelming! Everyone here at Hazelight are beyond happy – and we can’t stop enjoying your amazing reactions

Since the title was launched on March 6, it’s likely that it has already sold more than a million copies, as the developers have revealed the sales of the first two days. This makes Split Fiction another massive launch from the studio.
The title has received universal acclamation from fans and critics, making it another great GOTY contender. However, the game director is already aware of the great competition like GTA 6 but remains hopeful about the title.
