What’s next for Rockstar Games after GTA VI finally arrives? That’s the question on the lips of many fans.
Just over a year ago (yes, it’s been that long already), Rockstar Games released the first trailer for the highly anticipated entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. Now, fans are hoping that trailer two for GTA VI is just around the corner.
Of course, the most obvious choices would be Red Dead Redemption 3 or even a Bully sequel or remake, none of which have been formally announced by Rockstar Games, yet.
That being said, considering that Rockstar Games likes to take years to create its next game (and rightly so), we could be in for a very long wait for a successor after GTA VI.
“What will Rockstar do after GTA VI?” asked Redditor joe_ollie909. “Will they go back to developing two games at once and probably create a new IP? It’s been hiring a lot over the past few years, so surely it can’t keep developing one game at a time.”
“GTA Online forever,” joked EldritchTruthBomb with milixop adding “In 20 years, I can say ‘back in my day’ to the next generation playing it.”
“GTA VI single-player DLC would be amazing, like GTA IV or go a different route like Undead Nightmares for Red Dead Redemption,” said Sunnz31.
“If they weren’t cowards, they would make Manhunt 3,” declared a Reddit user.
“I would love it if Rockstar did a mediaeval fantasy game, a setting like Skyrim or The Witcher 3,” replied a hopeful DaSourOrange.
“They will milk GTA Online for two decades,” exclaimed Mountain_Ad6328.
At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to be released sometime during fall 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. After that, we’ll just have to wait and see.
