Although The Witcher season 3 made up for some of season 2’s biggest mistakes, it drew a lot of attention for being Henry Cavill’s final season as Geralt. Prior to season 3’s release, Cavill announced it would be his final season playing Geralt and Netflix revealed Liam Hemsworth as his replacement in season 4. There’s a lot of anticipation around The Witcher season 4 and Hemsworth’s performance as Geralt, but Henry Cavill should still return for one specific episode, and there are a couple of ways in which he can do so.
The Witcher’s Series Finale Needs To Include Henry Cavill Somehow
The Witcher’s Final Episode Is The Perfect Chance To Bring Henry Cavill Back

Cavill was a huge part of Netflix’s The Witcher and how Geralt was portrayed.
Henry Cavill’s time in The Witcher is over, but that doesn’t mean he can’t return to the show in some way. Cavill was a huge part of Netflix’s The Witcher and how Geralt was portrayed, and it’s fair to say that a big part of the show’s success has been thanks to him. It’s only fair, then, that Cavill returned for the show’s final episode, but that doesn’t mean he has to play Geralt again (more so as Hemsworth will still be playing the character by then).
Netflix’s The Witcher will end with its fifth season.
Cavill’s return can be a fun surprise for fans of the show, and it would be a heartwarming way to pay homage to his time on the show and his influence on it. By then, Hemsworth will have already played Geralt for two full seasons, so it will be long enough after his introduction to not take away from the recasting.
Cavill doesn’t necessarily have to return as Geralt in the series finale (which might be ideal to avoid even more comparisons with Hemsworth), so he could have a cameo appearance as a minor character, his image could appear as an Easter egg, or he could have a voice cameo (and fans would immediately recognize him).
How Henry Cavill’s Witcher Return Can Work (With Or Without Geralt)
There Are A Couple Of Ways In Which Henry Cavill Can Return To The Witcher

If the show decides to lean into the multiverse aspect of this world, Cavill could have a brief cameo appearance as Geralt.
A voice cameo would be a great way to bring Henry Cavill back in The Witcher’s series finale, and he doesn’t have to play Geralt for it to work – he could simply serve as a narrator who guides the audience to the end of the show. However, if the show decides to lean into the multiverse aspect of this world, Cavill could have a brief cameo appearance as Geralt, without taking away from Hemsworth as the main character.
Geralt’s recast most likely won’t be addressed in-universe and the show will simply continue its course in season 4, so, with that in mind, Cavill could return as any other character without creating plot holes or confusion. The Witcher has a great opportunity for an unforgettable and heartwarming series finale, which is what the show needs after so many ups and downs.
