It was previously said he lived in a flat share and couldn’t afford to visit Sabrina
Steven Smith has clapped back at Love Is Blind UK viewers calling him “poor”, in comments on a TikTok video. It was previously said one of the reasons his marriage with Sabrina didn’t work out was because he was living in a flat share at the time, and couldn’t afford to visit Belfast.
Sabrina has previously said his living situation after they got married on the show made it difficult for them to spend a lot of time together, and said he made no effort to come and visit her in Belfast, where she is based. During the reunion episode, Steven’s financial situation was mentioned, and Sabrina said she made a lot of lifestyle changes to fit around Steven, which weren’t reciprocated.
So what I’m hearing is that Steven was broke and just should’ve never been a part of the experiment? #loveisblinduk

“It’s not as easy as just get up and go,” she said in a post. “Steven rented a room in a flat share so I obviously couldn’t move in there. And he wasn’t in a position for us to get a place together at that point.
“I also own my own place so would have to ensure mortgage etc was covered. So we agreed we’d split our time between the two and figure it out together. I made sure we didn’t go two weeks without seeing each other. Distance was not an issue. It only became an issue when the effort wasn’t reciprocated.”
Now speaking out about his living situation, Steven has savagely clapped back at people who called him unprepared for marriage financially. One person asked him: “How did you envision making a romantic connection like marriage on the show when you still live in a flat share?”
Steven replied: “I shared an [apartment] with one other in one of London’s most prestigious real estates. If Sabrina didn’t move back to N.I then we would have got out own place, but we agreed to keep both on. Context.” Ok that’s a little sassy? And seems to point the finger at Sabrina wanting to go home, when he did exactly the same? Sure.
The next comment asked: “Weren’t you lodging rent free at a friend’s?!” It doesn’t look as though Steven has replied to that one.
