Insider Rumor Claims Kathleen Kennedy Will Stay on as Lucasfilm Head "At Least" Until Q2 2025

Without question, one of the most significant franchises ever is Star Wars. Though Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm resulted in a more extensive redesign of the canon and non-canon works, most fans still adhere to the previous divisions, which are far more inclusive and expansive than the current official canon, which has been significantly reduced by Disney. The Star Wars universe is an incredibly vast and amazing fictional world.

However, Kathleen Kennedy, the company’s president, was able to “survive” all the upheavals and changes that occurred at Lucasfilm, and she is still in charge of the Star Wars franchise with Disney. Kennedy continues to be the head of the franchise and one of the most important persons in terms of Star Wars’ future, regardless of your feelings about her managerial style.

Over the years, Kennedy has been criticized for some of her decisions, which seemingly angered a lot of fans, and that group of people is actually blaming her – and only her – for the issues the franchise has been having in recent years. Recently, there were rumors that Kathleen Kennedy would like to retire, but it seems that she will stay on as head of Lucasfilm for a while.

The insider rumor we have comes from Jeff Sneider, a reliable insider known as TheInSneider, who revealed in a recent post that he’s heard rumors that Kathleen Kennedy will remain as head of Lucasfilm until “at least” Q2 of 2025. This was also shared via a trusted fansite:

We don’t have any details, and this is just a rumor, but it seems that those wanting to see Kennedy leave will have to wait a while before that happens, as she doesn’t seem to be leaving her post. Ultimately, regardless of what you think about Kennedy, even if she can be blamed for some recent failures, she is definitely not the sole responsible, and there is no reason to hate her, especially not just her.
