Eleven looking up with wide eyes next to Vecna looking serious in Stranger Things season 4
Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower, who portrays main antagonist Vecna, has teased season 5 will be the wildest batch of episodes ever produced for the show. Stranger Things season 5 has been filming since January of this year, with production continuing on the final eight episodes of the popular Netflix hit. The series is expected to pick up right where season 4 left off, exploring the repercussions of the Upside Down leaking into Hawkins, Indiana while the group tries to stop Vecna once and for all.

Speaking with iHeart’s podcast I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario (via The Hollywood Reporter), Bower explained just how wild events in Stranger Things are going to get during its final season. While he didn’t offer any details about what to expect in the final season, he emphasized just how intense and unpredictable the remaining episodes are going to be. Check out what Bower had to say below:

If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like, it’s bonkers. It really, really is. It’s bigger. It’s just completely insane. It’s completely insane.

Jamie Campbell Bower’s Comments Are A Great Sign For Stranger Things Season 5

Bower also said that he wasn’t quite sure what would be happening on a larger scale in the final season, so far unsure what audiences should expect from the narrative. Even so, his comments are reflective of how Stranger Things season 4 ended, with Hawkins now a gateway between the real world and the Upside Down. With that will come unexpected consequences, many of which will no doubt make for wild adventures as the group tries to save the world from Vecna and the forces of his world.

Since season 5 is expected to start addressing the consequences of the Upside Down’s merge with reality right away, it might not take long for events to unfold in wild, unpredictable ways. However, Vecna is still weakened from his battle with the group, meaning it could be some time before he actually shows up to cause even more havoc. This means the show will likely build up to his reappearance, slowly showing Hawkins becoming more chaotic until the main villain finally appears.

Since no major new characters are expected to join the Stranger Things cast in season 5 – aside from Linda Hamilton’s mystery role – the wild events Bower promises will certainly involve all the show’s familiar heroes. This could mean anything from a character without powers suddenly getting a new ability, to a major death or two that establishes how dangerous everything has become. With so much of season 5 still a mystery, it might be some time until details of its storylines prove how off-the-wall it really is.
