The gaming community is baffled by the ridiculous AI in Star Wars Outlaws and wonder if it is living up to the standard of a triple-A title.

Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming open-world game set within a galaxy far, far away during the height of the Galactic Civil War. The gaming community has high hopes for this project, especially after early gameplay, then previews great potential and promises to provide a new perspective never before seen.

The gaming community was eager to see how this game would perform given all the new advancements and bells and whistles the studio has prepared. Unfortunately, like most modern triple-A titles, the game is not operating as intended and the bugs and glitches leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Star Wars Outlaws Is a Glorified Trainwreck of a Triple-A Game in 2024

Massive Entertainment is tasked to create an original story without necessarily having to rely on the Skywalker Saga as a crutch. Early copies are out in the wild and players are not pleased to see the screen they are greeted with after booting a physical copy of Star Wars Outlaws without an internet connection and downloading gigabytes worth of updates on the PlayStation 5.

Fans expected the game to have a smooth performance after years of development and the support of a competent game studio. However, the game is plagued with countless bugs, glitches, and other performance issues that would make the Stormtroopers of the live-action films look menacing and more of a threat than the artificial intelligence in a video game.

Ubisoft was proud to share a short preview of gameplay footage and it did not do the game any favors. Players entertained themselves by shredding the quality of the gameplay and questioning if the game was worth the price tag and if it is considered a triple-A game in 2024.

Other players were in the right to remain skeptical about the game’s final look after the developers shared footage of a much earlier build months prior. The game showed great promise but the developers bit more than they could chew for this ambitious project.

Stormtroopers are infamous for their poor aim in the films; however, this iteration represents a new extreme. The enemy AI seemed to struggle to hit their targets let alone spot Kay standing directly in front of them until she fired a shot and exposed her obvious location.

The gaming community is disappointed to see this game with great potential fall flat on the technical aspect. However, there are some things to praise and behold like the unique bonding system between Kay Vess and her buddy, Nix, by sharing meals that would benefit gameplay.

The developers will likely release a series of patches to address the stability issues and optimization flaws. Hopefully, the community will give the game another chance once everything is polished.

None of this would have occurred if the developers had paid close attention to performance. The Star Wars brand may be well-known but cannot shield other related projects from public scrutiny, especially if the complaints are warranted.

Game development is not for the faint of heart and Massive Entertainment struggles to deliver. Fans will add this game to the pile of disappointing video game launches as of late.
