However, right before his Oscar win, the actor went viral for his reaction to actress and singer Lady Gaga passing him by to collect her own Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries for American Horror Story. His laugh before she brushed past him and his startled look after became the subject of various memes.

DiCaprio himself won the Globe for The Revenant as a precursor to his Oscar win. After the ceremony, he reportedly told Entertainment Tonight what exactly happened.
