Marvel quietly announces our 'new Thor' in major twist

Marvel just re-introduced a long-gone character in a massive Thor twist, and it could change everything.

As I’m sure everybody knows Marvel’s Thor is based on the old Norse mythology, and while you’ll see a better interpretation of the character in God Of War Ragnarok than you would in the MCU, the comic-book character does pinch quite a bit from the stories he originates from.

Despite some initial confusion as to why he didn’t have long, golden air and abs, God Of War Ragnarok’s Thor is arguably the best we’ve seen in extended media

We’re not talking about his hammer Mjolnir, or his hatred of Frost Giants, we’re talking about his children Magni and Modi, one of which has been re-introduced in the latest comics series Immortal Thor.

Magni is Thor’s son born from his time with Amora, the Enchantress, a character we haven’t seen in live-action yet so hopefully that’s on the cards in upcoming MCU projects.

We first saw the character in Thor: Lord of Earth – The Reigning, a story where the Asgardians conquered the planet.

Like most Marvel stories it was neatly tucked away into the multiverse through some timey-wimey nonsense, making it so he never really existed but Thor could still remember who he was.

Now he’s back and presumably not happy with his dear old dad, so expect the two to clash some time in the future.

The MCU has never suggested Thor has children, but the end of Thor: Love And Thunder did show the Asgardian raising Gorr’s child as his own, so perhaps we’ll see some more parenting from the hero later down the line.

That said if the writers wanted to they could surely introduce the Enchantress, after all Chris Hemsworth can’t play Thor forever and eventually we’ll need a new face to put on the winged helmet.
