Spider-Man fans looking for something to keep them happy until Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 finally rolls around might want to take note: both wall-crawlers have officially returned in a surprise free download you can grab now.

I was a huge fan of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 when it launched last year, and I reckon Insomniac Games’ take on Spidey and his amazing friends is truly worthy of being ranked among the all-time great adaptations of the character.

Whether you like it or not (and I suspect there are many who don’t like it), this version of Spider-Man is now an indelible part of PlayStation. That’s why it’s so great to see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales have been added to Astrot Bot in a free update you can download now.

Yep, both Spider-Men are now enshrined in Team Asobi’s celebration of PlayStation history, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the likes of Kratos, Ratchet, and Nathan Drake. I love to see it, I really do. Evidently, so do the fans.

“GOTY just got even better,” wrote one Twitter user. “The Spider-Men are in Astro Bot!!”

Another added, and I’m leaving the caps they wrote it in for effect: “THE INSOMNIAC SPIDER-MEN ARE OFFICIALLY IN ASTRO BOT!!! THIS IS NOT JUST GAME OF THE YEAR, THIS IS GAME OF THE CENTURY!!!”

If you missed the news yesterday, Astro Bot officially won the coveted Game Of The Year award at The Game Awards. It’s also one of the five nominees in GAMINGbible’s GOTY award category, which you can actually go vote on now if you don’t mind me shamelessly plugging that.

Peter and Miles were added into Astro Bot as part of the game’s latest, completely free, update, which also includes various new challenges and levels. Game Of The Year indeed. Go get yourselves a Spider-Man or two, why don’t you?
