Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, could be making her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe very soon, with a brand-new team-up film.
Quite a bit has changed in the MCU in recent years, largely due to Jonathan Majors’ Kang no longer being the villain for the upcoming Avengers films, being replaced by Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom instead.
This unfortunately left Kamala Khan in a weird place as the bangles that provide her with her powers were supposedly meant to play an important role in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Fear not though as she’s not been written out entirely, and will in fact star alongside other Marvel heroes in her own team-up film, Young Avengers.
For those who don’t read the comics, the Young Avengers are exactly what they sound like: young heroes who formed their own team for when the world needs them most, kind of like the Teen Titans of DC.
Marvel Insider Alex Perez, who has a great track record, recently took part in a Q&A to discuss what’s currently in the pipeline for the MCU, including the Young Avengers film.
Perez said, “The current idea seems to be Kamala recruiting the Young Avengers on her own at the moment, with Cassie Lang on her list after Kate Bishop. If I understand it correctly, her goal aligns with Carol’s in trying to find a way to get Monica back, as well as trying to find out more about her bangle.”
It’s also said that America Chavez could be part of the team due to her ability to traverse the multiverse.
No one can say for sure who else could be featured as part of the roster, but we’ll likely know more when the film enters production.
