Now, ahead of the release of part 2, a new batch of photos has been released by TV Insider, and they tease a couple of unexpected returns in the coming episodes. The photos feature Dougal MacKenzie and time-traveling love Geillis, both of whom were previously killed in the series. The images also tease the return of Laoghaire, Jamie’s second wife and Claire’s nemesis. Check out the images, below:
Who Else Is Set To Appear In Outlander Season 7 Part 2
Just like previous seasons of Outlander, season 7 part 2 will largely focus on Claire and Jamie’s relationship, which is set to be tested like never before. The first half of Outlander season 7 ended with the pair leaving the American Revolutionary War and finally heading back to Scotland. The official synopsis of the new season, however, teases that the perils of the Revolutionary War will force them to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home.
It will be interesting to see how the return of Dougal MacKenzie and Gellis affects Claire and Jamie’s relationship as well. As viewers will remember, the war chieftain was murdered by Jamie in season 2 after he accused Claire of persuading Jamie to betray his people. His love interest Gellis was also decapitated by Claire in season 3, and it will be interesting to see how these returning characters interact with the two and also impact the coming episodes, especially considering the unsolved mystery of Jamie’s ghost.
Aside from Claire, Jamie, and the aforementioned returning names, other characters who are confirmed to appear in Outlander season 7 part 2 include John Bell’s character, Young Ian, who headed back to Scotland with Claire and Jamie. David Berry will return as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandevaart as William, and Joey Phillips and Izzy Meikle-Small will also return as Hunter siblings, Denzell and Rachel. Laura Donnelly, who played Jamie’s sister Jenny Murray in the earlier seasons, will not be returning for the new season, and she will be replaced by Kristin Atherton.
