A custom image of Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in Nobody Wants This and Some Girl(s)Adding to the stand-out romantic comedies on Netflix, the Adam Brody and Kristen Bell-led Nobody Wants This has already proven to be a crowd-pleaser, ranking number one in several countries as the most watched title. While the series has been praised for many reasons, one thing that has stood out with most viewers is the chemistry between Adam Brody and Kristen Bell. This is the first time seeing the duo together for some, but the two have cultivated a friendship through working together on various projects.

When looking at the actors’ history together, it makes sense that they shine in the Netflix original rom-com. We will look at each time the two have worked together, including their most recent outing for those unfamiliar with Nobody Wants This. We will also let you know where you can stream each project that Adam Brody and Kristen Bell have worked together on.

Adam Brody and Kristen Bell Have Incredible Chemistry in Nobody Wants This

Nobody Wants This focuses on the love life of two culturally different individuals trying to find commonality. These include Joanne, an agnostic who hosts a sex-positive podcast, and Noah, a rabbi struggling to find his footing again after the end of a long-term relationship. The two find an instant connection at a party, but their backgrounds and beliefs prove difficult for themselves and their family and friends to reconcile. Yet, as the two grow closer, they find strengths in their differences and commonalities that strengthen their bond.

Adam Brody and Kristen Bell lead the cast as Noah and Joanne. The series has thrived on Netflix thanks to the chemistry between the two, but the series itself is a pitch-perfect rom-com. Fans have found comfort in all the familiar tropes, misunderstandings in the courting process, a couple from different backgrounds finding unlikely love after a string of failures, and relatable, heartfelt comedic beats.

Yet, the series boasts sharp writing that keeps it from becoming too cliché, solid performances (Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons are great as Joanne’s and Noah’s besties), and a heartwarming approach to self-discovery grounded in writer Erin Foster’s own experiences with her husband. Nobody Wants This is currently streaming on Netflix.

Directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer and based on the play of the same name by Neil LaBute, Some Girl(s) follows a successful writer known as “The Man,” who embarks on a journey to connect with all his past relationships before his upcoming wedding. “The Man” meets with five past relationships, mapping out his life spent with others and trying to seek forgiveness for his past mistakes. Some Girl(s) offers a journey of self-discovery, focusing on introspection and growth, told through recounting past relationships.

Adam Brody’s performance as an introspective writer led to fascinating interactions with his past relationships, which saw him acting alongside Jennifer Morrison, Mía Maestro, Emily Watson, Zoe Kazan, and Kristen Bell. His time with Kristen Bell as Bobbi is particularly memorable, as the character represents “The Man’s” fear of commitment to the last woman he was with and had intended to marry before leaving her. It is an intense yet memorable interaction that, while far removed from their chemistry in Nobody Wants This, shows the two can work off each other through intense emotions to craft an unforgettable scene.

Adam Brody and Kristen Bell are great together in Some Girl(s). However, the movie itself was poorly received and may not offer fans of the duo exactly what they are looking for, given the briefness of their scene together; the movie sits at 53% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes with a 15% popcorn meter. Still, you can watch the drama and determine for yourself as Some Girl(s) is currently streaming on Prime, Tubi, and Hoopla.

Adam Brody Has a Memorable Guest Appearance in House of Lies (2013)

Based on the book House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time, the showtime original series House of Lies offered a comedic and satirical look at the world of management consulting. It followed Marty Kaan (Don Cheadle) and his team of consultants, including Jeannie van der Hooven (Kristen Bell), Clyde Oberholt (Ben Schwartz), and Doug Guggenheim (Josh Lawson), as they navigate the cutthroat world of the corporate landscape while trying to balance their personal lives.

Marking one of Kristen Bell’s best performances, House of Lies offered five seasons of entertaining and deliciously dark comedy; Adam Brody had a guest-starring role in the program’s final season. Still, Brody, who played David, was integral to Kristen Bell’s Jeannie van der Hooven character in the fifth season, playing a romantic interest as she struggled with her relationship with lead Don Cheadle’s Marty Kaan. Here, it is a joy seeing the two work across and play off each other, which you can check out yourself as House of Lies is currently streaming on Paramount+.

Adam Brody and Kristen Bell also appeared together in Scream 4. Bell played Chloe, a fictional victim in the parody movie “Stab 7,” and Brody played Deputy Ross Hoss. The two don’t interact, and the horror movie will not scratch that romantic itch, but those curious can stream Scream 4 on Max.
