Season four opens with a lot of emotional baggage, as the Pogues must not only deal with their complicated family lives, but the burgeoning new adventure that was laid out before them. As the relationships in Outer Banks get more complicated with each successive season, so too does the intrigue. Perhaps the most underrated aspect of the show’s storytelling, Outer Banks is very much a coming-of-age story that gets richer and richer as the audience learns along with the Pogues. All this makes season 5 a necessity, though Netflix hasn’t ordered more episodes yet.
Outer Banks Season 5 Is Not Confirmed
Netflix Hasn’t Ordered Season 5 Yet

Though a swift renewal seems like the most likely outcome, Netflix has yet to green-light Outer Banks for more episodes. This isn’t particularly surprising since the show has only just dropped its most recent episodes. Another thing that might delay Netflix’s decision to renew is the fact that season 4 has been split into two parts, and won’t be dropping all of its episodes in one sitting. This decision was made likely because of the delays caused by the 2023 Hollywood strikes, but there’s no telling how it has affected Netflix’s plan for the series.
Outer Banks season 4 part 1 debuted on October 10, 2024, while part 2 will arrive on November 7.
However, there’s little doubt that Outer Banks will score at least one more season, and its status as one of Netflix’s most consistent hits can’t be ignored. Though Netflix has canceled shows prematurely in the past, they have also been quick to preserve their success stories like Outer Banks and Stranger Things. Even if viewership is down for the fourth season as a whole, Netflix will likely give it at least one more chance to woo audiences back.
Outer Banks Season 5 Cast Details
The Pogues & The Kooks Will Return
While a shocking twist is always possible throughout the two halves of season 4, it isn’t difficult to speculate about the cast of Outer Banks season 5. The core cast of teens has anchored the show since the beginning, and there is no reason to think that all of Poguelandia will be back for any subsequent seasons. Likewise, the antagonistic Kooks should also be on hand, since the stark class divide between the two is one of the most powerful themes of the series.
With all that said, the cast will likely be led by the likes of Chase Stokes as John B. alongside regulars like Madison Bailey as Kiara, Johnathan Daviss as Pope, Rudy Pankow as JJ, Carlacia Grant as Cleo, Austin North as Topper, and Drew Starkey as Rafe. Season 4 has also added a host of new characters, but it’s unclear at this juncture if they’ll be back for future seasons.
The cast of Outer Banks season 5 will likely include:

Outer Banks Season 5 Story Details
What Happens Next In Poguelandia?
Since season 4 of Outer Banks isn’t over yet, there’s no predicting exactly what will happen in future episodes. However, a few major events have already changed the complexion of the lives of the characters, and that sets the stage for season 5.JJ learning the secret of his true parentage was not only a nice twist, but it also introduced an element of danger because his identity was likely hidden for a reason. Bigger changes could loom in season 4 part 2, but viewers will have to wait and see what’s next if Netflix orders Outer Banks season 5.
