On the series side, one of Prime Video’s most popular efforts is the post-apocalyptic drama Fallout, based on the Bethesda video game series of the same name, which has been renewed for a second season. Though some of its content could be categorized as post-apocalyptic, Prime Video has never directly dabbled in the zombie before. However, its first feature-length installment in the genre has recently seen an unexpected surge in popularity and achieved some significant success.

It Ranks 6th On Reelgood’s Chart
Prime Video’s new zombie movie, Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End, has become a streaming success. Directed by Carles Torrens, with a script written by Ángel Agudo based on the novel by Manel Loureiro, Prime Video’s new Spanish-language zombie film follows a man and his cat who attempt to survive a global pandemic that turns infected people into aggressive creatures. Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End‘s cast includes Francisco Ortiz, José María Yazpik, Berta Vázquez, and more.
Now, shortly after its streaming debut on October 31, Prime Video’s new apocalyptic zombie movie has become a streaming success. Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End ranks sixth on Reelgood’s Top 10 movies chart for the week of October 31 to November 6. It ranked below Trap, The Substance, Woman of the Hour, Don’t Move, Time Cut, and above Late Night with the Devil, Caddo Lake, MaXXXine, and Despicable Me 4.
What Apocalypse Z: The Beginning Of The End’s Streaming Success Means For The Movie
It Could Spawn A Trilogy
With Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End becoming a streaming success, the new zombie movie has excelled both critically and commercially. Though the movie doesn’t have enough reviews to qualify for a Rotten Tomatoes score, critics call it a visually impressive and well-acted adaptation that captures the essence of the original novel, although it doesn’t bring anything new to the zombie genre. However, its critical and commercial success should be enough to spawn sequels from Prime Video based on the existing trilogy of novels.
