Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s photographer pal has fired back against claims a photograph of the couple used to announce their pregnancy was edited.

Misan Harriman has posted a lengthy rebuttal after sources close to Meghan and Harry waded into the row surrounding Kensington Palace’s photo editing blunder.

The Princess of Wales admitted to ‘experimenting with editing’ on the Mother’s Day photo of herself with her children after sparking a social media storm.

They said Harry and Meghan would have been ‘annihilated’ if they had made the same Photoshop mistake as Kate – but added the Duchess would not have slipped up due to ‘freakish attention to detail’.

A resurfaced podcast then revealed that the intimate 2021 black and white photo of the couple used to announce Meghan’s pregnancy with Princess Lilibet was doctored.

In a four-minute video posted on his Instagram account, Misan played some of the podcast interaction.

The interviewer had asked: “They weren’t actually under a willow tree, were they? They were lying outside in a meadow, weren’t they?”

Mr Harriman replied: “Yeah they were lost in their love, at home, in their garden, comfortable, celebrating new joy.”

The photographer said that he was asked “leading questions” posed as “a statement as fact” by the journalist, adding that he believes some journalists do this in hope that you “respond or add something to it”.

He claimed that he has experienced this many times with questions regarding Meghan and Harry, but chooses to just “swirve, ignore or just get back on track”.

After playing the podcast clip, Misan added: “So, how that exchange could amount to me admitting to doctoring an image is insidious and really dangerous journalism.

“Any mention of meadows and willow trees came out of the person doing interview, not my mouth. I did my best ignore it and focus on what I wanted to talk about.

“So to see an article say about [that] as fact, that I did what I did not do, is extraordinary to me.”
