A brand-new game is headed your way from the creator of PUBG.

This isn’t the only project the developer is working on, however, it appears to be the one that currently offers the biggest open-world experience.

Prologue: Go Wayback! doesn’t have an launch date just yet, though PUBG’s Brendan Greene anticipates it entering early access in 2025.

Not long to wait. Assuming the play tests that will be carried out run smoothly.

On its Steam page, this “Earth-sized” title is described as a “single-player open world emergent game within the survival genre.”

“Prologue: Go Wayback! is a survival adventure set in the heart of the unknown, where every decision you make determines your fate”.

Its synopsis continues, “You are dropped into a vast, wild landscape, armed with little more than an old, weathered map and the tools necessary to stay alive.”

Whether you reach your final destination is up to you, as it seems that various challenges are ahead of you.

There’s no mention of enemies in its description, however, its environment is described as “dynamic and unpredictable”.

Alongside the announcement of this new adventure, Preface: Undiscovered World has also been unveiled.

This is an “immersive tech demo” designed to showcase the software being used to bring titles like Go Wayback! to life.

So far, the reviews for this PC title are mixed.

Although some recognise the potential in these new projects, others aren’t sure what they’re meant to be impressed by.

Despite the jury being out on this free demo, the reception for Go Wayback! is much more positive.

We wouldn’t say the feedback is without criticism because that would be a lie, however, gamers believe the game “looks interesting”.

Even though not everyone is hyped about this upcoming release, it’s still one we’ll all be watching closely to see if it delivers something new to the survival genre.
