Red Dead Redemption 2 next-gen graphics overhaul shows us what RDR3 could look like

It has officially been six years since Red Dead Redemption 2 was released and with the Rockstar title going on to become a modern-day classic already, it is hard to believe that it could get even better with the arrival of a sequel.

First released in 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before being added to PC a year later, Red Dead Redemption 2 is not only praised for its masterful storytelling and fun gameplay but also for the fact that its setting and graphics are absolutely stunning.

Taking place across the American Frontier during the late 19th century, Red Dead Redemption 2 is as picturesque as they come and continues to take player’s breath away to this day.

However, what if it could look even better?

That is definitely possible thanks to DubStepZz on Youtube who has released a video showcasing what RDR2 would look like at ultra settings with 4K resolution and at 60FPS.

Courtesy of a 12-minute video, we get to see the RTX 3090 Ti i9-12900KS in action on PC and it is safe to say that the Rockstar title has never looked better.

We get to see our beloved Arthur Morgan as he walks through the rain-soaked streets of Saint Denis, huddling under shelters lit only by lanterns as people bustle through the darkened alleys.

Then the scene switches to early morning on the lake as Arthur rides his horse through the budding sunshine and across the rolling hills that make way for stunning vistas.

From manicured estates to the bars of Saint Denis, DubStepZz shows us what Red Dead Redemption 3 could look like thanks to the ability to push modern-day graphics to the limit.

Not only that but it seems as though I was not the only one who was impressed.

One comment read: “While I wish I experienced this game with this graphical level of detail for the first time, it really didn’t matter to me.

Even on a base PS4 on a 1080p tv at 30fps, this game looked insanely gorgeous and the level of immersion is beyond anything I’ve ever played to this day.”

“I remember playing this at my grandparents house, my late grandfather was watching in the background and asked, “what movie are we watching?”

I of course told him it was a game, and he just laughed and after a while said “It’s a weird cowboy movie”. I miss these moments.”
