Rockstar Games just posted a new trailer to their Twitter! This is it, right? The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI is finally here?!

Well, no. It’s not a trailer for GTA VI. In fact, it’s not even a trailer for a video game – something that has confused their entire fanbase.

“From our friends Nick Love and Danny Dyer, the absolute legends behind The Football Factory…” Rockstar Games stated in a post on Twitter, “@MarchingPowder_— a proper naughty comedy out tomorrow in the UK and Ireland.”

In case you can’t tell from the trailer, Marching Powder is a film. It’s not an adaptation of any Rockstar Games property though, so the question is: why?

Well before we get to that bit, let’s take a look at how confused the people in the comment section are.

“Doing anything except giving us content for the biggest game of all time,” commented user @McneilWebster.

“crazy, you don’t want to market gta 6, do you?” replied user @StrikedVI.

So, you might have noticed that the Twitter post from Rockstar Games doesn’t state anywhere that it’s sponsored – as they would be legally required to do if that was the case.

Does that mean Rockstar Games is just promoting Marching Powder out of the kindness of their own hearts? Haha, no, don’t be silly, it’s because they’re credited as executive producers on the film.

That’s right, video game giant Rockstar Games is branching out into cinema… again. This is actually the second time they’ve worked with Marching Powder’s director Nick Love, because they also helped produce his 2004 film The Football Factory.

It genuinely just seems like someone high up at Rockstar Games is just mates with Nick Love and enjoys financially supporting his work. According to an interview with Seapeekay, they even let Love feature Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne in his new film too.

Must be nice to just be mates with one of the most famous video game publishers of all time.
