Remember when in 2007 and 2011 Nicolas Cage portrayed the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider in Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, respectively? Yeah, the movies were made in the pre-MCU era and while they were never major hits at the time, with all the nostalgia, fans want to see the character once again.
We know that since Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the rights to these characters switched to the MCU, which now has access to Ghost Rider. In light of that, we have reported how Cage was called to reprise his role in Deadpool & Wolverine and how even concept art showing Ghost Rider was made, but that did not work out.
As said, Nicolas Cage is now busy working on the Spider-Noir show, in which he is going to play a live-action version of Spider-Man Noir, the character he voiced in the Spider-Verse animated films.
We don’t know whether that influenced his decision to reject Deadpool & Wolverine, but according to the most recent rumors, Cage is not done with comic book movies:

To be frank, we’ve said on multiple occasions that MyTimeToShineHello is a popular rumor mill, but also not a very reliable one. Sure, they are known for getting things right, but with their rumors being unsourced and their having a track record of false rumors, there is absolutely no way to tell just how reliable this rumor is.
What we can say is that it would definitely be a great thing. Cage is a popular actor and despite his problematic personal life, he is an exceptionally talented actor he is always capable of bringing something new to a role. So his rendition of Ghost Rider in the MCU would definitely be something special. What are the fans saying about this rumor:
Well, this is not a surprise I have done a video over a year ago talking about Kevin Feige wanting Nic Cage in the MCU. Kevin Feige also said he wanted Wesley Snipes in the MCU.
Wesley Snipes as Blade (not the fans Blade) is in the MCU now it is time for Nic Cage to return as…

As you can see, regardless of the likelihood of Cage’s return, the fans want him back and that is something that we could have anticipated based on everything we know about Cage, the character, and the MCU.
