The first season of What If…? came out in 2021. The show explored alternate realities in the multiverse, imagining how Marvel characters’ stories could have changed if key events happened differently. All of this was observed by Uatu the Watcher.

The series was a big hit, leading to two more seasons. The final season is set to premiere on December 22, 2024. Marvel has just released a new clip from a special episode, which you can watch below:

The short clip shows Sam Wilson/Captain America in a mech suit alongside Monica Rambeau. They watch as a group of mutated monsters, resembling the Hulk in size and build, approaches.

The scene, with its mech suits and giant monsters, feels similar to Pacific Rim. It’s likely from the anime-inspired episode “Go-Avengers: Heroes of the Gamma War,” where the Avengers use powerful mechs to fight Mega-Hulk monsters.

The team in this episode includes Sam Wilson/Captain America, Black Widow, Red Guardian, Xu Shang-Chi, Monica Rambeau, Moon Knight, Shuri, and Melina Vostokoff.

Fans can also look forward to other exciting episodes, including one focused on Red Guardian with Bucky Barnes, Bill Foster, and Ranger Morales. There’s also an episode with Agatha Harkness featuring a musical number, and a Western-themed team-up between Shang-Chi and Kate Bishop.
