As everyone knows, Disney has been having a great time turning its cherished animated classics into live-action pictures. And while some of these—like Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, and The Lion King—turned out to be enormous hits, others were regarded as flops that no one—not even Disney—wants to talk about. In spite of the opinions of the fans, the company is continuing with its live-action remakes of the same storylines that we have already seen.
One of the more controversial adaptations is the one that is planned and stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White. It has received criticism for a number of things, such as the casting of the lead actress, the CGI issues, and how the Dwarves are portrayed in the film. Others, as usual, took issue with the movie being accused of being woke.
Be that as it may, we have reported on several controversies related to the upcoming Snow White movie, which is set to come out in 2025, and it seems that people are getting ready to slam the movie if the YouTube patterns are to be trusted.
In a move that is not unheard of – we’ve seen a similar reaction when The Rings of Power Season 2 trailer was released, as well as the trailer for Gladiator II – the fans have gone to YouTube – since they cannot go anywhere else at the moment, to voice their opinion on the upcoming Snow White movie. The movie won’t be coming out until 2025, but the fans already think they know everything about the upcoming movie.
If you follow the official trailer, you will be able to see, as reported here, that the trailer received an overwhelming amount of dislikes, so much – in fact – that it could be interpreted as bombing because the trailer is not that horrible.
The film has had its issues – the use of CGI, the casting of Rachel Zegler because of her ethnicity, the casting of Gal Gadot because of her nationality, Zegler’s online comments, and the supposed feud with Gadot – but such an overwhelming amount of hate seems to be motivated by something else. We do not know what it is, but here are some of the comments from the people who did not like the trailer:
“No dwarves were hired during the making of our film.”
“It’s all CGI, and they call it Live Action. Weird. Weird.”
“Personally I just wish they’d leave the older classics alone. Not just Disney but the ENTIRE entertainment industry. I’m tired of seeing remakes. Stop being lazy, and make something original.”
“Whats the point of doing a live action remake of an animated movie if you’re just gonna animate half the characters anyway?”
“Snow White and the Seven CGI Abominations.”
You can now try to explain this by yourselves; there’s more than enough material!
